So I did this a couple weeks back before the wind chill arrived with your typical dry pre-winter weather. If I remembered correctly, I did this nail art on the actual decent sunny fall day that made me love fall despite of the amount of yard raking that I have to do...
Without further ado...
As usual... please ignore my cuticles and dry skin... just focus on the colours
Picture was taken outdoor, where the sky was sunny enough to be like summer if not for the colder temperature...How to create this look (sorry, I didn't take a step-by-step pictures as I did this, but it should be easy enough to copy that you don't need a step-by-step figures):
1. Put on the base coat.
2. Put on the base colour. Here I used Take the Stage from the shimmer line of OPI Burlesque 2010 collection. It's a pretty bronze/new-penny-copper-foil. It's streak-free reddish metallic foil polish. I has thought this was foils suspended on orange jelly polish, but upon closer inspection, (in my opinion) it's more like penny-copper foil suspended on clear polish. However, rest assure, it's very dense in the amount of foil particles that all you need is two coats to get full coverage.
3. While still wet, shred gold foil sheets (you can get it at most craft store) and place them randomly on the tips of your nails using tweezer/orange stick/toothpick. If not, slap on some clear topcoat to adhere the foils. (I tried silver, looked very tacky to me...)
4. Slap on a coat of top coat. I used nailene's Acrylic Strong.
See?? It's easy and elegant to boot! Unfortunately, I did find this look very distracting when trying to work since I couldn't stop staring at it everytime it catches the light. So I won't recommend this for office wear at all...
