Before I knew it... it's been months...feeling a bit spacey at the moment...

Yeah, life happens... and I'm a terrible blogger/writer to begin with... anyway

As usual, I should be making some presentation slide... but got sidetracked... so instead of finishing my presentation slides with information about neutron stars, I did my nails in 'space' theme:

 First, the look:

Ignore the ring finger... I was planning to make it matte, but changed my mind since matte didn't give it the depth I wanted... I used CND matte... is it supposed to be this milky?

Look at the depth...

Do you like it?

What I used: Eyeko Cosmic Polish, layered with  Last Friday Night from the OPI Katy Perry Collection.

About Cosmic Polish: black polish with holographic glitter

About Last Friday Night: looks gorgeous on the bottle, but it's pretty darn sheer... and for some reason, the formula felt pretty goopy to me (even after I added polish thinner) and dries in this satin finish. So you need topcoat. It's glitter polish where the glitter really pops and looks awesome on black/dark colour. The colour changes in every angle!

Dorothy Who?

Dorothy Who? was part of China Glaze's Wizard of Ooh Ahz Returns collection which was rereleased due to popular demand, and boy was I happy that they did!

DW is such a pretty blue-silver glitter suspended on medium blue jelly polish! In general, I'm a lover of all blues, so without a question, I quickly fell in love with this colour!

So onward with the swatches: sunny outdoor...

With blue this gorgeous, how can you resist falling in love with it?!?! I mean, just look at it! Doesn't it remind you of the clear blue, blue summer sky?? For me, it certainly did. In fact, DW was so pretty that I didn't do any nail art on it since it'd be a sin to do so!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Squarepants!

So this is the story behind this polish. I've been somewhat lemming after RBL's polishes pretty much after seeing all of the raving reviews of the quality and arrays of colours of their nail polishes in various nail blogs (i.e. ALU, Scrangie).
At first it was ok for me to not have them because A, while I have no doubt that the quality of their polishes must be top notch, the price is rather too high for an undergrad with irregular part-time job like me. So I decided that it was ok that for me not to own any. But alas, the lemming was still there and it only grew after every beautfiul swatches I see, especially their Marc Jacobs inspired Spongebob Squarepants collection. Those colours are just to die for! Granted they're sheer, but I'm a lover of sheer polishes as much as I love opaques!

Luckily, my lemmings were answered in the form of Rescue Beauty Lounge's annual 50% off sale! So I got myself the whole spongebob collection and some!

So without further ado, may I present Squarepants!

Squarepants itself is sheer milky yellow polish that while it stands for its namesake, it also reminded me a lot of banana pudding! Pictured is three coats with Zoya's La Pop with flash. You can see that this is pretty sheer as even with three coats, you can still see the VNL.

Rustic Foil Fall Leaves

Well, as the title says, this is my approach to an actual fall-themed manicure... (actually, did the title even make sense?)

So I did this a couple weeks back before the wind chill arrived with your typical dry pre-winter weather. If I remembered correctly, I did this nail art on the actual decent sunny fall day that made me love fall despite of the amount of yard raking that I have to do...

Without further ado...

As usual... please ignore my cuticles and dry skin... just focus on the colours
Picture was taken outdoor, where the sky was sunny enough to be like summer if not for the colder temperature...

China Glaze Party Hearty is awesome~

Yes, the title tells it all! China Glaze's Party Hearty from ‘Tis The Season To Be Naughty Or Nice 2010 collection is just pure awesomeness that screams: "It's Christmas!" even at the first glance!

Without further ado, here I present Party Hearty!

Pictured above is two coats of Party Hearty topped with matte topcoat on all nails. The pinkie and ring finger has shimmer basecoat. Party Hearty itself is clear polish with gel-like consistency to suspend its hexagonal red glitters, medium-sized round green glitters and smaller silver glitters. At first glance of the bottle itself, all that you'd be able to see would be the glitters. Yes, there's THAT much glitters in it. However, application wise? Well, it somewhat varied depending on your application finese?

Here's what I meant:

All of my nails technically have two coats of PH, however you can definitely see the difference in the amount of glitters that I had on my middle and index finger. I was wearing PH on its own, though I have no doubt that it will be a great layering polish if you hate VNL.

So anyway, over all, Party Hearty is a great christmas-themed polish, which is great to wear to glam out your nails for christmas parties. Unfortunately, you probably can only wear it around Christmas time... unless you're like me, who just love Christmas and wishes that it's Christmas all year around!

OPI Extra-va-vaganza!

After three weeks of constantly checking my mail box like a person with OCD, the nail polishes I ordered finally arrived at my door! After doing a celebratory dance and staring at the pretty bottles, I decided to put on Extrava-va-ganza! from the OPI Holiday 2010 Burlesque collection.

Extrava-va-ganza! is part of the glitter collection of the whole collection. It's densely packed together chunky glitter on clear base polish, dominated mostly by orange/copper and silver glitters. However, you can definitely see green, blue, yellow, pink/purple glitters peeking through the orange/silver glitter canopies!

Nail of the Day!

I'll do an introductory post some other day... this is my first time blogging... and I pretty much just want to share my love for nail polish and nail art!

So here goes, my first post!
